Douglas TLD400 Tug

The Douglas TLD400 Tug is an essential piece of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) being a heavy-duty,  pushback towbar-less tug designed for aircraft pushback and towing operations. It is commonly used for narrow-body and wide-body aircraft and is known for its durability, traction and operator-focused design.

TLD is a globally respected manufacturer of airport ground equipment, and the TLD400 reflects the company’s focus on performance, safety and long service life. The tractor is well suited to both commercial and military aviation environments where consistent aircraft handling capability is required.

The Douglas TLD400 is a heavy-duty aircraft towbarless tractor designed specifically for large commercial and military aircraft that require high nosewheel lift capacity and strong towing performance.

Because it has a cradle lifting capacity of around 45,000 kg, it’s suited to aircraft with very high nose gear loads, including wide-body and heavy freighter types.

Typical Aircraft Types the Douglas TLD400 Can Handle

Large Wide-Body Passenger Aircraft

  • Boeing 747 (all variants, including 747-400 and 747-8)
